JV boys golf sweeps top two spots at Hardin-Jefferson

Two of PN-G’s junior varsity boys golf teams claimed the top two spots Tuesday during the Hardin-Jefferson JV Invitational at Idylwild Golf Club in Sour Lake.

The team of Lake Edwards, Conner Knight, Christian Lauffer and Jaxson Trahan took first place on the day, shooting a combined score of 368.

Coming in 12 strokes behind them were the foursome of Jared Fournet, Paul Benton, Layton Webb and Jeffrey Wolfe. The foursome ended the day at 380.

Claiming individual medals were Edwards and Wolfe, who tied for the highest low scores at 80 strokes while Knight came in 3rd place with a 92.

The team will be out of scheduled play for nearly a month as their next outing is slated for March 22 in the Nederland Tournament at the Country Club of Texas in Beaumont.

Guidry placed third in Warren varsity girls tourney

Lorey Guidry placed third Monday during PN-G’s outing during the Warren Tournament at Wildwood Country Club in Village Mills.

The junior shot a 97, earning her the trophy at day’s end.

The girls varsity golf team is back in action Friday, March 5, for the Nederland Tournament at the Country Club of Texas in Beaumont.
