Taking a breath before her squat attempt, E'Laychaui Esclovon ('26) focuses on a spot during the New Caney Invitational girls powerlifting meet on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026. It was the PNG Girls Powerlifting team's second powerlifting meet of the year, after hosting — and winning — the PNG Invitational on Jan. 5. The Port Neches-Groves High School senior class of 2026 graduated with a commencement ceremony held inside the competition gym on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Because of the threat of severe weather forecasted for the evening, the decision was made to hold the ceremony indoors for the first time in 34 years.

The 2026 Port Neches-Groves High School Junior/Senior Prom, "A Night In The Emerald City," was held Saturday, April 25 at the Robert A. "Bob" Bowers Civic Center in Port Arthur.

The Indianettes' annual spring show was held on Saturday, April 11 at the Julie Rogers Theatre in Beaumont. The show, this year title "Purple Reign," included dances that included a royalty theme. Along with dances from the entire team, the show featured solos, grade-level dances, the first performances from incoming Indianettes and other special performances and acts. Heading into Week 5, the Indians were undefeated, 3-0, as the District 8-5A-II schedule began. As the game was set to begin, and the sun provided the perfect “golden-hour” backdrop, varsity cheerleaders Kynlee Vasquez (‘28), Bayleigh Evans (‘28) and Katelyn Bakker (‘28) performed “Cherokee” along the track. As she shot into the sun from a lower, worm’s-eye angle, a radiant sunburst was framed inside Kynlee’s left arm while creating a silhouette effect of the trio. “Cherokee” played several times that night as the team ran away with a 45-21 road win.
