Kaylee Gutierrez: An #NDNSatHOME Story
April 27, 2020
Kaylee Gutierrez is a senior at PN-G. On a normal school day, she is involved as co-head varsity cheerleader, Senior HOSA, National Honor Society, T.R.I.B.E, Indians Give, Student Council, Young Life, various volunteer activities, works at Flip Factory and Exygon’s Kids Club. This is her #NDNSatHOME story.
Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when things go back to “normal?”
A: I want to see my cheer team and HOSA family.
Q: What’s one positive thing you think you can pull away from this situation?
A: Through tough times our community ALWAYS finds a way to make everyone smile, especially the Seniors in this case.
Q: What have you learned about yourself while distance learning has been in place?
A: I have learned that I can always keep myself busy even when I’m not at school participating in various volunteer work and activities.
Q: If 2020 had a theme song what do you think it would be?
A: “Rise Up” by Andra Day.
Q: Have you taken up any new hobbies with all the free time? What are they?
A: Since I’m able to have a lot of free time, I’ve been cleaning out my room and getting ready to move to the University of Mississippi!
Q: What’s your favorite distance learning class and why?
A: Is and always will be HOSA. Although we didn’t get to finish our time at the hospital, our amazing teacher is still showing us surgeries and other interesting units!
Q: Finally, what message would you like to give to your fellow classmates?
A: I am very disappointed and upset that our year has definitely had its short comings, but we will all grow from this in one way or another. I know our community and school district will not fail us on making our last memories special. I will truly miss seeing all of you in the hallways, class, pep rally’s, or parking lot. I hope you all continue to have hope that we will get to see each other one last time!
