Camryn Perkins is a senior at PN-G. On a normal school day, she is involved as a varsity twirler, peer tutor, Youth Leaders of Southeast Texas, band social officer and National Honor Society. This is her #NDNSatHOME story.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when things go back to “normal?”
A: The first thing I want to do when things get back to normal is see my peer tutor kids one last time. They made this year SO much better and missing out on seeing them everyday has been very hard for me.

Q: What’s one positive thing you think you can pull away from this situation?
A: One positive thing I can pull away from this experience is that I’ve gotten to enjoy spending time with my family.

Q: What have you learned about yourself while distance learning has been in place?
A: I have learned how much I enjoy having a schedule put in place. For the first few weeks of this, I did not have a schedule in place and it made me feel like I was going crazy. As soon as I forced myself into a schedule, I noticed that it helped me stay productive and it reduced a lot of stress I was holding onto.

Q: If 2020 had a theme song what do you think it would be?
A: Thy will by Hillary Scott and The Scott Family.

Q: Have you taken up any new hobbies with all the free time? What are they?
A: I have become even more obsessed with Pinterest and online shopping! I use it to get ideas for my dorm next year at Stephen F. Austin State University. I have multiple boards over what I want my room to look like!

Q: What’s your favorite distance learning class and why?
A: My favorite distance learning class is peer tutor. I have enjoyed getting to read my class books, writing them letters and just getting to check up on them.

Q: Finally, what message would you like to give to your fellow classmates?
A: I miss you all so much! I know that this isn’t what any of us planned for — but I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with y’all.
