Indians Give date moving to May

Mr. Tobias, Adviser

This year’s Indians Give date has been moved to Saturday, May 9 from its original date of Saturday, March 28.

The original date conflicted with the day of the district UIL competition at Barbers Hill. Changing the date allows many students who could not originally attend to participate.

“I’m so glad for the date to change,” Nate Brant, junior and UIL competitor, said. “Now I can help serve in the community.”

‪This is the third year for the event, which involves students participating in various service projects throughout the Port Neches and Groves communities.‬

The day’s schedule will continue as planned, with the welcome, T-Shirt pickup and breakfast to begin at 7 a.m. in the Indian Stadium parking lot.

A short kickoff rally will take place at 8 a.m. with students being released for their service projects shortly thereafter.

The day will culminate with lunch back at the school at noon.

“With Indians Give, we can be 100 percent successful by being kind,” Mr. Deckert, Student Activities Director, said.
