Three PN-G Fishing teams placed in the top 100 — including one team which placed in the top three — during last weekend Southeast Texas High School Fishing Association.

Grant Humphrey and Cade Latiolais placed third out of 490 teams in last weekend’s tournament — the second of a six-event season for the association, including the championship in May.

The day was tough for the entire field. Several PN-G teams took the water with extreme confidence. However, winter time fishing can be very deceiving. The day started with a chill in the air and hardly any winds were forecasted for the morning time.

The cold chill in the air kept many people off the water. However, once the sun came up, it started to warm up and the bite kicked on.

February fishing is very tough, but a positive mindset helped many of the Indian anglers. Latiolais and Humphrey led the team’s effort with 15.89 pounds (5/5), followed by Thomas Reinholt and Hayden Ryder in 66th with 8.06 pounds (5/5), and Avery Jungen and Keegan Trahan placing 90th with 6.51 pounds (3/3).

The PN-G Fishing team would like to thank its sponsors, board members, advisors and all of the volunteers who make everything possible.

The anglers will be back on the water Saturday, Feb. 22 at Toledo Bend (Louisiana).
