Girls and boys tennis teams have placed well in their first two spring tournaments.

Varsity girls players Carolina Maqueda and Lucia Prieto placed third in doubles last Friday at the North Shore tennis tournament in Galena Park. Stephanie Barron placed first in the consolation bracket.

On the JV girls side, Krista Holbrook placed first and Ashley Ipina second in the singles action last Thursday at Lamar University’s Thompson Family Tennis Center in Beaumont. Bianca McManus and Allena Nguyen took first place and Goretti Tran and Kaytlynn Schexnider took second in doubles action.

The week prior, the varsity girls kicked off the spring season with Melanie Ramos and Kiley Weatherly winning the A Bracket doubles, with Bianca McManus and Allena Nguyen winning B bracket doubles.

For the varsity boys, Dalton Broussard and Jonah Smith placed first in the A and B singles consolation bracket last Friday.

Broussard also placed first in the first tournament of the season on Jan. 24.
