HEAGAN HOMES
Q What do you like most about working with kids?

A Being a role model and someone for them to look up to. I like to see how children’s minds work and it is greats for my future profession.

Q Do you know the teacher you peer tutored for before this year? If so, how?

A Yes, she was my third grade teacher and now I get to assist her in the same exact classroom.

Q Do you remember the peer tutors you had when you were in elementary school? Did they help influence you to become one? If so, how?

A Yes — I still have a picture with her! She was my peer tutor and a cheerleader and I have looked up to her ever since. I hope to impact my kids the way she impacted me.

Q Have you ever worked with kids before this experience?

A Yes, I have babysat kids for two years and I love working with kids.

Q Do you plan on working with kids in your future?

A Yes, I am going to school to become a children psychologist so working with my peer tutor kids is a great practice for my career.

Q What is one memorable thing that happened this year?

A I not only work with 3rd grade, but I work with special needs students as well. Working with those kids has impacted my life tremendously. One day when it was time for me to leave, one of the little girls broke down and started crying because she was going to miss me when I left. Those kids mean the world to me.

TYLER PIPPIN
Q What do you like most about working with kids?

A I enjoy getting to see them grow up, and learn as the year goes on.

Q Did you know the teacher you peer tutored for before this year? If so, how?

A I did not.

Q Do you remember the peer tutor you had when you were in elementary school? Did they help influence you to become one? If so, how?

A Yes, I always remember them come into the school with their jersey and uniforms for Fridays. I looked up to them and always hoped I got the opportunity they got.

Q Have you ever worked with kids before this experience?

A I do, I am a lifeguard at the YMCA and also help a lot if the youth church.

Q Do you plan on working with kids in your future?

A I plan on having as much influence with kids as possible. I hope to be a dentist, so my future doesn’t deal strictly with kids. But this experience has
opened my eyes to so many wonderful things in education.

Q What is one memorable thing that has happened this year?

A I will always remember my first couple weeks, when I would go, before the class had warmed up to me. It would seem like they barely knew I was  there. But now I walk in and everyone cheers and is happy to see me. My kids have impacted my life, given me memories I will never forget and relationships that will last for a lifetime.
